Grand Rapids Glassblowing Studio is the private studio of John Riepma and Scott Haebich. The studio is located on the west side of Grand Rapids, Michigan, about 10 minutes from downtown. In addition to creating our own work here at the studio, we also offer occasional workshops and other events in the Spring and Fall.

Unless otherwise noted, workshops last one hour. You will usually share the hour with 1 or 2 other participants, taking turns creating a project.
These workshops assume that you have no experience with glassblowing so beginners are welcome. Age limit is 18.
Because your finished project needs to cool slowly overnight to prevent cracking, you won't be able to take it with you the day of the workshop. You can pick it up at a later date or make arrangements for us to ship it to you.
To reserve a spot, email us with:
1) which workshop you'd like to attend
2) your top 3 preferred times (choose 3 different hours during the times listed)
3) how many projects you'd like to make
4) phone numbers (day and evening) where we can reach you
This workshop allows you inside a working glass studio to learn how ornaments are made. After you choose your colors, one of our "professional glassblowers" will assist you in the creation of a beautiful one-of-a-kind keepsake. We'll do the steps that require more experience but you'll do the actual "blowing" so you'll be able to call yourself a "glassblower" when you're finished!
Because your finished ornament needs to cool slowly overnight to prevent cracking, you won't be able to take it with you the day of the workshop. You can pick up your ornament at a later date or make arrangements for us to ship it to you. Then you can give it as a gift… or can keep it for yourself! (We know you really want to keep it so you better make two.)
This workshop assumes that you have no experience with glassblowing so beginners are welcome. Age limit is 18. Cost for the workshop is $38. Creating additional ornaments costs $34 each.

Stop by to check out the only glassblowing studio in the Grand Rapids area. Our Open House is free and open to the public.
10:00 am to 3:00 pm each day
Here's a great chance to get inside a working glassblowing studio and view the process of creating "art" (or whatever it is we do) from a glob of molten glass. There's nothing else quite like it!
On both Saturday and Sunday, there will be:
• demonstrations going on at one bench,
• hands-on ornament workshops at the other bench (see "workshops" above),
• plenty of glass gift items you can purchase
• the opportunity to watch, learn and ask questions about glassblowing
• studio tours, refreshments, drawings and fun
If you see one of our finished glass works and wonder how it was made, just ask. We'll try to work it into our demonstration schedule.
Grand Rapids Glassblowing was featured on EightWest, a morning lifestyle show on WOOD-TV here in Grand Rapids. Here's the segment that was shot at our studio.
